The day job stuff

I work in technology leadership. Currently, I'm a Senior Engineering Manager for Ferguson Enterprises. Before that, I worked at a now-defunct newspaper advertising startup and Build.com.

As is often the case, any opinions/thoughts/beliefs shared here are mine and mine alone. They do not reflect the opinions of my employer, associates, or dog.

The other stuff

Outside of work, I have many other interests/hobbies/whatever you want to call them. I'll sometimes write about these (and more).

• I've been a musician for almost 30 years. I've been playing guitar (and sometimes singing) for most of that.
• I'm a Whiskey Sommelier and Certified Bourbon Steward. History, mashing, fermentation, distillation, maturation, blending, and tasting are all deeply interesting to me.
• Sociology, economics, socioeconomics, social justice, public policy, diversity, equity, inclusion, etc. are issues I spend a lot of time thinking about.
• Mental health and the impacts it has on me and those around me.

Other deets

Born and raised in Northern California (actual NorCal, not The Bay Area™ "norcal"). I live with my partner, her 2 kids, my dog, our many cats, pet rats, and whatever other critters we're housing at the moment.
